ABOUT ANDY
Like so many of us, in February 2022 I was watching the news and seeing Ukrainian families saying tearful goodbyes at the train stations. I thought, if it was me, I would want someone to help my family escape to safety. So I drove over from the UK and started evacuating women and children across the border into Poland. I have crossed the border over 170 times.

I only intended to be in Ukraine for a few weeks, but seeing the need for wider help I stayed. I have delivered many loads of humanitarian aid across Ukraine. Having served in the Royal Engineers for 5 years in the past, I also take medical supplies, food and service clothes to soldiers and firefighters. Following the Nova Kakhovka Dam flooding crisis, I delivered 150,000 litres of emergency drinking water to people whose drinking water supply had been destroyed or contaminated.

Being a bricklayer by trade, I am now also rebuilding homes of vulnerable families. I work in liberated villages that suffered the heaviest destruction during the invasion.

Whilst I often work alongside other teams and help organisations, I am a one man band. My aim is to help Ukrainian people and servicemen who need it most and to help them rebuild their lives.
